Valencia, California: Passionate Care LLC, the creators of the Premium Stethoscope, announced a price drop on their high end stethoscope with the goal of making it affordable to those seeking a higher quality stethoscope.
“Here is what we know to be true,” stated Raul Meza, Co-Founder of Passionate Care LLC. “You can go to any large hospital in the U.S. and you will find nurses using disposable stethoscopes as their everyday primary auscultation tool. This is a problem because this stethoscopes were not made with the intention of being used this way. Nurses are settling for lower quality tools and with this lower quality comes the increased possibility of a lower quality assessment of their patients.”
Disposable stethoscopes are used in hospitals primarily for isolation patients. In an Isolation room the goal is for tools and equipment to remain in the room in an attempt to stop any cross contamination from that patient to any other patient. Disposable stethoscope are just that, disposable. They are left in a patient’s room and are discarded once the patient is discharged. These stethoscopes are thinner and do not produce the high quality sounds that come with the more expensive stethoscopes.
“Nurses are tired of spending good money on stethoscopes when the potential of someone walking away with it is so high. Practically every nurse will have at least one if not many stethoscopes taken from them in their career,” reflected Meza. “Instead of spending over $100 again on another decent stethoscope, they just use whatever is lying around. The problem with this is they are risking not hearing something important. In the end it is the patient that is losing out.”
Passionate Care has lowered the price on its Premium stethoscope to $59.00. This price drop is for a limited time only and is applicable only to purchases made on Amazon. Stores carrying the Premium stethoscope will not be able to honor the discount.
Meza concluded the announcement by saying, “This discounted price opportunity was created with the intention of curving the number of nurses who settle on only using disposable stethoscopes. It is important that disposable stethoscope still be used in isolation rooms but with this sales price there is no reason for nurses not to own and use a high quality stethoscope.”
