CAF Dixie Wing has recently announced that the second annual Commemorative Air Force Atlanta Warbird Weekend will be held this weekend September 12 and 13, 2015. They want to emphasize that this weekend will be packed full of fun activities for the entire family. It provides an opportunity for everybody to immerse themselves in the history of World War II and what that means for this country. "The Atlanta Warbird Weekend is not an airshow," says a representative from CAF Dixie Wing. "Rather, it is an opportunity for people to come together and to learn about the things that made this country great. They will be able to meet pilots, gunners, crewmen and more, while immersing themselves in the history of that very special era."
The weekend event is a community effort that was inspired by the Commemorative Air Force Dixie Wing. This organization is the Georgia chapter of the largest World War II flying museum in this country. Together, they will present a fantastic line up of war planes used during that particular world war, on which people can also book rides if they so choose. However, it is recommended that they book now, as places are limited.
"It's a weekend event," says Jay Bess, Executive Officer of CAF Dixie Wing. "People will be able to mingle with our fliers and crewmen who will be wearing period uniform. We will also provide entertainment from that era, including pin-up girls and bomber turret displays."

Any updates about the program and things to do during the weekend will also be listed there. Additionally, it will be an opportunity for people to share information and photographs about the things they experienced while they were there.
Further information is available now about Warbird Rides and other activities during the event. A number of World War II planes will be on display during the event itself, and people can purchase tickets to ride the planes.
