New Article Explains How Physiotherapy Can Help With Respiratory Problems

London, UK, SEP 10, 2015 – Treating the symptoms of cystic fibrosis, considered the most commonly inherited respiratory ailment among children in the UK, requires an adherence to a physiotherapy program. In order to help Ealing residents out with this, CK Physio  (www.ckphysio.co.uk) has just published a new blog post authored by Bryan Kelly entitled "How Ealing Physiotherapy Helps Patients With Respiratory Conditions."

The article discusses specifically an article for Medical Xpress, that details how "researchers from the University of Stirling  have initiated a study that aims to increase the support received by cystic fibrosis patients and their primary caregivers in physiotherapy treatment regimens."

“Cystic fibrosis is just one of the respiratory conditions that are regularly treated with chest physiotherapy,” states Kelly. “General practitioners and other physicians in the area would usually refer patients with these ailments to Ealing physiotherapy experts. These practises work hand in hand in the holistic management of the patient’s condition.”

According to the article, a new "support tool will encourage children with cystic fibrosis and their parents to view chest physiotherapy as a positive experience by providing them with a bank of novel and enjoyable strategies - such as activities, games and songs."

The article points out that "many Britons are no strangers to respiratory diseases, such as asthma, COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) and aspiration pneumonia." It also notes that "manual techniques in physiotherapy, special equipment, breathing exercises and postural drainage are used to expand the lungs and move the secretions effectively. Aside from clearing airways, physiotherapy exercises also promote relaxation and pain relief."

CkPhysio physiotherapists are Chartered (members of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy) and registered with the Health Professions Council.
